A day at nursery with Dolunay: daily routine, lessons and half-day options

When you entrust your child to a nursery, what you most want to know is how their day will go. On this page we walk you through our programme for ages 0–6 from start to finish: what time children arrive, when they eat, which lessons they have, who naps and how the day ends.

Full day or half day?

Our nursery offers two options. The full-day programme runs from 08:00 to 17:00. On the half-day programme you can choose either the morning session (08:00–13:00) or the afternoon session (12:00–17:00), whichever you prefer.

Families who work full time usually choose the full day. For families who would like to ease their child into nursery gradually, or who are at home for part of the day, the half day can be a good place to start. If you are not sure which one suits you, give us a call and we can talk it through together.

The daily routine, hour by hour

A steady routine helps a child feel secure; a child who knows what will happen, and when, starts the day more at ease. Our day opens with a morning welcome, and after breakfast it is time for activities and lessons. After lunch the children rest, the afternoon continues with play and activities, and after the afternoon snack the day closes with goodbyes.

Which lessons are taught at the nursery?

Our lessons are planned according to each child’s age, using learning sets that follow the curriculum.

English: we learn English through games.
Mind and strategy games: we learn to think, solve problems and create.
Qur’an education: with a loving, age-appropriate approach.
Music: we express ourselves through rhythm, song and music.
Sports: we strengthen our muscles and grow up healthy.
Values education: love, respect, sharing and a sense of responsibility.
Science and nature: we wonder, experiment and explore nature.

Meals and sleep routine

On the full-day programme we serve three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Rest time follows lunch; our 0–4 age group has a regular nap time every day.

We pay special attention to meals and sleep routines, and we keep our parents regularly informed on these matters.

Tracking development and keeping in touch with parents

We plan every activity so that it gives the child a new skill. Our programmes support social, emotional, cognitive and motor development together; our teachers take each child’s individual differences into account.

We offer psychologist and child-development specialist support for settling in and for monitoring behaviour and development. We keep our parents regularly informed on topics such as sleep, nutrition, setting boundaries and getting used to school. Activities beyond the classroom

Which age group does Dolunay Kreş accept?

Dolunay Nursery & Daycare cares for children aged 0–6. For ages 6–13, Dolunay Kids’ Club and Homework Club is part of the same institution.

Is there a half-day nursery option?

Yes. The full-day programme runs from 08:00 to 17:00. For the half day you can choose either the 08:00–13:00 or the 12:00–17:00 session, whichever you prefer.

What time does the nursery day start and finish?

Our full-day programme runs from 08:00 to 17:00. In the daily routine, arrival and welcome begin at 07:30, and end-of-day goodbyes take place between 16:30 and 17:30.

Is there a nap time at the nursery?

Yes, we have a nap time for our children in the 0–4 age group. In the daily routine, the hour after lunch (13:00–14:00) is rest time.

What happens if my child finds it hard to settle in at nursery?

Settling in goes differently for every child. During this period we stand by both the child and the family with our psychologist and child-development specialist support.
